“The TRUTH is, that all of the ‘STUFF’ here on earth we work so hard to buy and accumulate … does not mean a thing.

At the end of the day … people will be cleaning out our ‘STUFF’, going through our ‘STUFF’, figuring out what to do with all of our ‘STUFF’…

This ‘STUFF’ we’ve accumulated in our life.

The only thing of VALUE that remains, are the MEMORIES and what we deposit into others.

May we all learn to spend less time accumulating ‘STUFF’ and spend way more time making MEMORIES.

I came across this book after watching TED talk by the author about the link to menopause and the brain. It was an eye opener for many burning questions that I had and happy to have found a book that explains the interesting details. The starting talks about the importance of hormones followed by the repercussions of taking the antidepressants, cough medications and hormonal supplements which alters the brain chemistry in the long run thus paving for welcoming Alzheimer’s disease. Whenever menopausal women discuss their hot flashes as main issues never imagined to be a problem originating from the brain since the phenomenon is termed as vasomotor for a reason. In all this, points towards the tasks and activities one may need to slow down the onset of Alzheimer’s is worth the read and the recipes at the end of the book gives us the completeness one wish for. Try it to see it for yourselves and do not forget to share your views.

No one is stupid, no one is clever (all perceptions are incomplete)!!!

“In a train, two children were running here and there. Sometimes they would fight with each other, and at times they would jump on top of seats.

The father, sitting nearby, was lost in his thoughts.

In between, when the children looked at him, he would put on an affectionate smile, and then the children would again get busy with their mischief and the father would keep looking at them lovingly.

The co-travelers of the train were upset by the children’s playfulness and annoyed by the father’s attitude. Since it was night time, everyone wanted to rest.

Seeing the running around of the children, a traveler could not stop himself and exclaimed to the father – “What kind of father are you? The children are behaving so naughtily, and instead of stopping them you are encouraging them with your smiles. Is it not your duty to explain to them?”

The father paused for a few moments and said, “I am just thinking how to explain it to them brother.” The man said, “my wife had gone to her maternal home. She passed away yesterday due to an accident. I am taking the children there for the final rites, and now I’m confused how to explain to them that now they will never see their mother again.”

Hearing this, everyone was stunned. Let alone saying something, nobody was even able to think straight.

The children were still engaged in their mischief. They were still running around in the compartment. There was no change in the atmosphere, but those children were no longer looking like undisciplined kids to the co-passengers but were looking like soft young flowers, on which everyone wanted to pour their love.

The father was no longer a careless person, but now he was seen as the father and the mother of two children, saddened by the separation of his life partner.

The change in feeling/perception/thinking leads to change in behavior.

We keep labeling people as bad/good, stupid/clever, decent/indecent without actually knowing what they are going through or the reason behind a particular behavior.

It’s okay to have an opinion and yet never give an ultimate opinion.

This book explains the true meaning of an actual companionship. How a wanderer finds the solace in a street cat is the nutshell of this story. It sounds more like a memoir of the author than a series of events surrounding the cat. This story is so provocative and may influence to adopt a pet sooner..

I had spent an hour in the bank with my dad, as he had to transfer some money. I couldn’t resist myself & asked…

”Dad, why don’t we activate your internet banking?”

”Why would I do that?” He asked…

”Well, then you wont have to spend an hour here for things like transfer.

You can even do your shopping online. Everything will be so easy!”

I was so excited about initiating him into the world of Net banking.

He asked ”If I do that, I wont have to step out of the house?

”Yes, yes”! I said. I told him how even grocery can be delivered at door now and how amazon delivers everything!

His answer left me tongue-tied.

He said ”Since I entered this bank today, I have met four of my friends, I have chatted a while with the staff who know me very well by now.

You know I am alone…this is the company that I need. I like to get ready and come to the bank. I have enough time, it is the physical touch that I crave.

Two years back I got sick, The store owner from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside and cried.

When your Mom fell down few days back while on her morning walk. Our local grocer saw her and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live.

Would I have that ‘human’ touch if everything became online?

Why would I want everything delivered to me and force me to interact with just my computer?

I like to know the person that I’m dealing with and not just the ‘seller’. It creates bonds of Relationships.

Does Amazon deliver all this as well?”’

Technology isn’t life..

Spend time with people .. Not with devices
