What if I tell you a monotonous story of life embedded with Vedanta Philosophy, the immediate reaction will be to opine oh is it about a sage who leave behind the Samsara? (bondage). Well, it is not about that at all. Firstly, am thankful to the author to share his physical copy for free. I am bowled over his execution that categorized even for laymen understanding like me. Secondly, the story covers the everyday nuances of life with a philosophical analysis and this is done by blending spirituality with rationality. It serves with right portions and simplicity at its best. I have heard the essence of Mandukya Upanishad discourse before, but it was through this book I could relate and analyse the concept of ‘Viswa’, ‘Virat’, and ‘Turiyam’ states of sleep. My salutations to the author for his great efforts on bestowing this knowledge and will refer them constantly for self reflections.

The void of incompleteness,

Urge to nibble on the edge,

Pursuance sneaks to triumph over,

By paralyzing the hype of pondering,

Retrieve the deeply seated intelligence,

Through the conjunction between the body and mind complex,

There exists the awareness globe “I” for its ever illuminating vigor and pan-sophist traits!

Breathe in the hold,

Focus on the expansion and contraction,

Check the impulse of eternal robustness,

While space discover within one self,

The ever presence omniscient existence,

Away from its reflected prefixes,

Pave ways for a peaceful banters,

Thus erodes the egoistical identity “I” in the flame of spiritual wisdom.

I do not know what made me to pick this book, but it reveals some amazing tips for mirror analysis of life. The metaphorical use of Nachiketa story is a masterstroke in this book of factual events. It is very common to hear from a spiritual or religious people of its wisdom, but uncommon to evaluate of their eminence in the subtlety of life. Let me divide my insights into two categories for a better comprehension. Firstly, if the interest is rhetorical then the questions raised by Nachiketa will be assured to convey the intended message to the right audience. The inquisitive attributes of Nachiketa are one of a kind and of a higher nature, so isn’t fathomable to all. Secondly, if pursued as an allegory, then continuous reflections are to be instigated for individual moral upliftment. Hence, the following statement explains it all and thankful to have introduced to this beautiful teaching of Kathoupanishad. “The consciousness of individuality is always searching and seeking to find the right combination to move towards the consciousness of unity”.

New Life

While walking in the aisle at Barnes and noble shop near downtown New York, an aura like feel dragged to open a book called “The Bhagavad Gita” by Jack Hawley. In spite of raised in an Orthodox environment, never attempted to refer them in detail. There was this particular incidence when studying in class 5, a Bhagavad Gita competition was announced which made me to just enter and leave the room seeing the huge crowd of other competitors. Scaring was dominant at that time and mind got diverted into other areas.

It happened that while staying at uncle’s place in abroad, his passion towards this spiritual text has opened a channel of thoughts. He was introduced to this text by his teacher in high school who also was a vivid reader of these verses. So it was through him I tasted these quotes. But ended up slipping away through Samsara (Material World) angle of life. However, I do not recollect what made me to read the English translations, but it mesmerized the life like a trance. Since then I started to collect Bhagavad Gita books from various authors and be thankful to have a few precious of it.

Some banter about life experiences as if readily available for quoting ”Life is full of adventuresome”. Similarly, every successful person will have an inspiration ranging from interpersonal characters to famous personalities. It is through them we get nourished. But there are others who regret about not getting the desired goals and are blended with destiny. Here comes the divine song of god chanted by the godly figure in the verses, thus shining us with the right and contend way of living.

“If asked what change did these texts brought?”

Would say nothing except the reactions to the situations are handled better. Perceptions of totality brought a reflection process that in depth opened a clear understanding towards life. Am filled with intellectual desire (Kama) to buy these books and hoping to get the text assimilated in me rather being an academic theorist.

“Life is what we make and break out of it”
